WELL Health-Safety Rating

Advantus Engineers assisted Upper St. Clair School District located in southwestern Pennsylvania in their pursuit of the WELL Health-Safety Rating. This six-school district encompasses over 875,000 square feet and serves students grades K-12. This was the first school district in the world to achieve the rating.

The WELL Health-Safety Rating is an evidence-based, third-party-verified rating for all facility types, focused on operational policies, maintenance protocols, emergency plans, and stakeholder education to address health and safety-related issues.

There are five core areas of the rating to support the health and wellness of occupants: 1) Cleaning and Sanitization Procedures, 2) Emergency Preparedness Programs, 3) Health Services Resources, 4) Air and Water Quality Management, and 5) Stakeholder Engagement and Communication.

Advantus reviewed existing procedures, provided recommendations for improvement, and/or documented initiatives to all areas associated with the rating including but not limited to cleaning procedures, ventilation and filtration assessments, emergency preparedness and resources, and employee health related policies.
