LEED Gold v4 BD+C: Core and Shell
Advantus served as the sustainability consultant and commissioning agent for the 26-story FNB Financial Center, an approximately 500,000-square-foot office tower that achieved Gold certification under LEED v4 Building Design and Construction: Core and Shell. Advantus provided both Fundamental and Enhanced Commissioning for the base building and central plant, in addition to sustainability consulting and LEED coordination.
The building is served by a central plant providing hot water and chilled water to the base building and tenant spaces. Advantus commissioned the central plant and base building systems, including the infrastructure and equipment designed for future tenant fit-outs and connection to the building’s mechanical systems.
The FNB Financial Center was the first building constructed as part of the Lower Hill Redevelopment, which achieved a Gold rating under LEED for Neighborhood Development. The redevelopment is located within the City of Pittsburgh’s Lower Hill Specially Planned District (SP-11), where development is guided by a Preliminary Land Development Plan and individual projects are reviewed through the Final Land Development Plan process. Advantus assisted the project team through both Preliminary and Final Land Development Plan approvals, helping align the building-level sustainability approach with the broader goals and requirements established for the Lower Hill.
