Advantus provided quality assurance, construction administration, and commissioning services at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland from 2014 through 2018. The work included field investigations, contract and schedule review, jobsite observations, project meetings, as-built document review, commissioning, punch list support, owner training, and project closeout. Advantus also assisted NASA project managers with construction administration, progress payment review, maintenance assessments, life-cycle cost analysis, and evaluation of scope changes.

Projects during this period included architectural and interior renovations, pavement and site improvements, sanitary and stormwater upgrades, and numerous mechanical, plumbing, and electrical projects. Advantus also supported major steam and chilled water distribution improvements, boiler and chiller plant overhauls, controls upgrades, and energy conservation projects.

Advantus also served as the design-phase commissioning agent for Building 37, the Instrument Development Facility, a laboratory building developed to support collaboration among scientists and engineers working on spacecraft instrumentation. Advantus provided commissioning input throughout the design process, helping the project team address system performance and commissioning requirements as the design progressed. The facility achieved LEED Gold certification.
